The Balanced Nurse- Time Management, Productivity, Work Life Balance, Self-Care, Habits, Routines, Nurses

❓❓Are you a nurse or woman in healthcare giving 100% at the bedside and nothing left for yourself? Struggling to find the time for self care and create healthier habits? Do you wish you had more energy on your days off so that you can do the things that fuel you– like getting a quick sweat sesh in, spending time with friends & family, or working towards your own goals? I am so excited you’re here, friend! This podcast will help you… ✅manage your time so that you can create healthier habits & routines ✅make time for self care ✅have more energy & ✅balance your work life so you can achieve your personal, health & fitness goals! Hey girl, it’s Ashley! I’m an ER nurse (almost 10 years) now teaching nursing students👩🏻‍🏫, enneagram 9, & coffee lover! For most of my nursing career, I tried balancing my work life, making time to take care of myself, and create healthy habits by just winging it with no success. 🚫 I got caught up in the work hustle and signed up for all the overtime. I would overeat, snack on all the breakroom goodies, and over do it on energy drinks. (can we say SVT?) 🚫 I found myself mentally and physically exhausted when I got home. On my days off, I was too tired to workout, meditate, plan out my week, or even spend time with family. 🚫 I would find myself mindlessly scrolling on instagram on my days off with the infamous nurse bun still intact from the prior day’s 13 hour shift. 🚫 I didn’t know how to balance the stresses of being a nurse and living a fulfilling life beyond the bedside. It wasn’t until I left my 7 year relationship and turned the big 3-0 that I finally took a hard look at my life. I realized I had been putting my career and others needs before my own. I was not prioritizing the things that mattered most in my life. I told myself that if I wanted more energy, better habits, prioritize self-care, and work on my personal goals, I needed to learn how to better manage my time and set up my nursing career around my life– not the other way around! It was time to put myself first. And it’s time for you to do the same, friend! Because we can’t give to others what we don’t have. (Say it louder for the people in the back!!) Girl, I’m excited to share with you all the tips and strategies that have helped me find the time and balance in my life to achieve my personal, health, and fitness goals! Things like… 👉🏼Time blocking 👉🏼Prioritizing, setting boundaries, & 👉🏼Productivity hacks, habits, goal-setting, WHILE 👉🏼Also taking a holistic approach to your self-care (burnout isn’t cool anymore) and other areas of your life! If you are ready to stop scheduling your life around your stressful nursing job, find a simple way to make time to go after your biggest goals & live your best life… Then this podcast is for you! Welcome to The Balanced Nurse Podcast! 🎧Today, we're embarking on a journey into the enriching practice of transforming your weekly planning into a ritual.
As we delve into the magic of ✨rituals✨, let's remember that these practices have been ingrained in human culture for centuries, guiding us from ancient ceremonies to our modern-day routines. By infusing your weekly planning with the essence of ritual, you're not just checking off tasks; you're honoring your priorities and aspirations in a sacred space.
Crafting your planning sanctuary is where the magic truly begins. Picture yourself in a cozy corner, maybe with your go-to cup of coffee or tea, surrounded by items that inspire you—a vision board, motivational quotes, or even your favorite candle scent burning. (I love my diffuser and himalyan lamp) Engaging your senses really just elevates the experience, inviting you to fully immerse yourself in this soul-nourishing ritual. And remember, make it your own! Whether it's incorporating devotional reading, meditation, or taking your planning session to a favorite coffee shop, create a ritual that feels good for you! So, let's embrace our weekly planning as a sacred ritual, honoring our intentions and paving the way for transformation, one intentional step at a time.🌿

Welcome back friend! 🎙️ In this episode, we delve into decluttering five key areas of your life:
Relationships: Assess who drains your energy and prioritize spending time with those who uplift you. Embrace alone time for reflection and self-care.
Physical Clutter: Choose quality over quantity in purchases. Implement the one-in-one-out rule to maintain balance. Regularly donate or sell items you no longer need.
Digital Clutter: Minimize distractions by disabling unnecessary notifications. Utilize tools like Google Drive and Notion to organize digital files and tasks.
Financial Clutter: Cancel unused subscriptions and automate bill payments and savings contributions to streamline finances.
Time Clutter: Create unstructured time in your schedule for relaxation and spontaneity. Learn to say no to commitments that don't align with your priorities.
Decluttering these areas will help you create space for what truly matters and lead to greater balance and fulfillment in your life! 🌷
